Questions or poll? Choosing a mode
When to use written questions, a poll or a quiz — and every poll question type.
Each event has one mode — questions, a poll or a quiz — so attendees get a short, focused page.
Questions mode
Attendees write their answers. Use it for Q&A sessions, feedback ("What should we improve?") and suggestions. Answers support light formatting: bold, italic and lists.
Questions mode can also show questions to the audience so people can upvote the ones they want answered. See Audience questions and upvotes.
Poll mode
Attendees pick answers, and you get live results. Each poll question can be:
- Multiple choice — one answer, or allow more than one.
- Star rating — 1 to 5 stars; you see the average and the spread.
- Score 0–10 — "How likely are you to recommend…?"; you see the NPS (promoters minus detractors, from −100 to +100).
- Scale 1–5 — with your own words at each end, e.g. Strongly disagree … Strongly agree.
- Word cloud — one to three words; the most common answers appear bigger.
Good to know: however many questions a poll has, one submitted poll counts as one response.
Quiz mode
You show timed multiple-choice questions on the big screen; players answer on their phones and score points for speed. Each player counts as one response. See Running a quiz.
Several talks in one event?
Questions and polls can have sessions — one per talk or workshop, each with its own link and results. See Multi-session events.
